      <title>MForge not functional &#45; anyone seen this&#63;</title>

        <p>I am attempting to use the mForge shader and go through the documentation
<br />
with it.&nbsp; However, I cannot seem to get the shader to work, and when I open
<br />
up some of the sample files and render them - the objects with this shader
<br />
applied appear black.&nbsp; Which is odd.
</p>
<p>
I am following the documentation  (mforge manual) which states that if you
<br />
select preview mode material a - you should see something reflected.&nbsp; All I
<br />
see is a black box there where the preview sphere should be.&nbsp; On all of
<br />
these example files, it is the same.&nbsp; I took some screen shots to help
<br />
illustrate the point more effectively.

<p>
In the sample file - lacqeur_project - I selected the object named 1
<br />
and then looked at the settings on it. It has the mforge
<br />
shader applied, in the diffuse section.&nbsp;  Procedural settings
<br />
on this are set as viewed in the attachment  - where you can see the missing
<br />
preview sphere despite the settings of that texture in the sample file being
<br />
diverse.&nbsp; Something should show up here!
</p>
<p>
When I render this file, I get a very odd result.&nbsp; Everything is all dark.
</p>
<p>
I did other experiments, and it appears that all items this shader are
<br />
applied to appear dark and I cannot get a good result.
</p>
<p>
Also - the shader itself appears completely black in the palette - I do not
<br />
know if this is normal, or if it helps at all, but this is what it looks
<br />
like in the shader palette on my machine (see last screenshot)
</p>
<p>
Of course - the test documents I am using came directly from the konkeptoine website,
<br />
with no changes made by me (except to point to the right place on the hard
<br />
drive).
</p>
<p>
I am at a loss of what do do, is there anything you can think of that would
<br />
make the shader not work on my machine?&nbsp; Am I doing something wrong?
</p>

I am running the older version of ei to get these plugins to work ( eias
<br />
5.5.3) and I am on an older power mac running  osx  10.4.10

<p>
I think i mentioned this before to Matt, but i&#8217;d like to see how many in the forum uses ArchiCAD combined with Electric Image. Graphisoft has an old export plug-in for EI v2.9. Graphisoft already once wanted to take out this plugin from the save dialog 2 versions ago if i recall it, but fortunately last minute they decided to leave it untouched. We are still using that old export which works fantastic to the basic level, but it doesn&#8217;t export UV info and I think it has problem exporting cameras, lights, sun and most of all (which i can&#8217;t stand but gotta live with) is for curved surfaces it crates a smooth part group and straight vertical/horizontal surfaces creates flat part group. Increasing the number of group counts.

However i love the fact that it exports by layers and it childs it with a material nill group too. Makes easier to update projects when something changes, but actually that part is also limited. Need also here some better collaboration. 
<br />
And the Mac version export is totally broken. ArchiCAD exports the FACT file totally empty, but something is there becuase the file has size so it&#8217;s not 0kbyte.
</p>
<p>
So I’m curious how many of you is using ArchiCAD and if somehow prove to EI to do some development in-house for at least an updated export for AC13 which comes out soon this year. Graphisoft don&#8217;t bother with it, unless I guess EI puts some pressure on them. But we need user feedback.

        <p>Hi there i hsve been asking around and sending emails to Blair(NorthernLights3d) i  need to know how compatible are Placer and Flock with v7, if they dont work with Renderama i will wait to upgrade and learn the basics. Thankyou,Edgard.
