i’ve gotten a Nikon D200 DSLR recently for timelapse work, it’s also pretty adept at acquiring HDRI’s. so as i travel around the world in the next 2 years, i plan on getting as wide a collection of HDRI scenes as possible.

so, here’s your chance to request those hard to find scenes.

what format works the best? (i don’t have 7.0 yet)

also, anyone that has a good freeware(or cheapware) HDRI maker that takes Nikon NEF files. photoshop cs3 wants to convert them to tiff’s before it makes them HDRs. it even warns that converting them from the raw NEF files will make them less useful, then goes ahead and converts them....

Are you going also to Asia? If so, i would like to see popular scenes from Japan, like Ginza District in Tokyo for example or Kyoto (the District where the Geisha´s live). Cherry Blossoms in japanase gardens/parks (march/april). Interior scenes from tradional japanese (tea)houses. Temples.
Beiying: Tian´anmen Square/Forbidden City for example.
Thailand: Bangkok famous Temples. Southern Thailand (around Phuket etc.), beautiful beach scenes (dec./jan)

Regards
Stefan

i am definitely going to japan. not sure about thailand, it’s a stop for the flight, so if i can manage to get some shots there i will.

great suggestions about the cherry blossoms and kyoto. i will add those to the list.

thanks!

i’ve considered china, but i hear the pollution there is pretty bad, the forbidden city would be great also, but isn’t it forbidden?
grin

i may end up going to china for a client’s project though, so that might be possible.

The most useful thing I think you could offer are images taken in various light conditions (AKA times of day).  Pictures from city streets interest me most.  If your taking a lot of images, and making them available, I’m sure something will work for everyone.

It’s a shame all of those toys you list will be collecting dust while you travel wink

Have fun,
Yon

the toys will be rendering while i’m away. i have pretty much been rendering continuously for about 2.5 years…

not all the same scene though!
