what is the best way to get an Illustrator eps into EIM? i’ve tried a zillion versions, from v3 to 10, fills, no fills...cannot get a file to import...i’ve checked all the points for overlapping, etc...the Status palette shows comments writing but then nothing shows up...TIA

Illustrator CS3 and EIAS both speak DXF.  I’m not sure about earlier versions of Illustrator.

Look in Illustrator’s export list.

6 and 7 do.  If EI won’t let you select them, choose the ‘all files’ option and open it.
If it’s still not working for you, try exporting half of it.

Works for me......

Hopefully yhloon is right.

If yhloon’s idea doesn’t work, maybe you can import it into EIAS and export it as a fact.  Let us know if you get it right and how.

Sorry, I didn’t catch the Modeler reference first.

ah, no problem...well, it came in and then crashed the program...it’s not a super complex outline...i’ve checked it over for points that might be doubled or not connected...it is clean...never had this much trouble before...saving out as AI 8 from CS 3...tried importing into swift 3D, Bryce, still no luck. i wonder if it is something in CS 3?

i’ll keep trying...do you generally import with a fill or without? i have tried both.

thanks.

Save as Illustrator 5.5 always did the trick for me, also when exporting from Freehand
