Hi,

Hope someone can help here.  We have just upgraded to 7.0 and immediately to 7.1.  All seems to be working fine, but when we go to create an occlusion render, it crashes.

We can load the shader into the camera, apply it to the diffuse channel and set to all.  the problem arises when we double click on the shader to check the settings, it just crashes EIAS.

It has worked fine in 6.5 and before.  Does Occlusion 2 have to be upgraded for EIAS 7.1? Or is this a bug?

Mac is OS X 10.4.11 Quad 2.5 Core 8Gb RAM

Thanks for your help in advance.

Pete

Hi Pete,

The Occlusion shader has been made obsolete by the GI system in EI which does a much better and faster job, so it was never upgraded to UB.

To use GI to set up an occlusion pass follow the instructions here.

http://www.eitechnologygroup.com/wiki/Occlusion_passes/

I also made some Occlusion video tutorials, they can be found on this page:

Hope that helps,
Ian

I wonder if there could be a way of turning all the steps your recipe indicates into some sort of Layer Shader, camera mapped shader or whatever, to integrate it into the new multilayer render feature.
