when trying to use the new noise factory and scratches shader, while in the variance editor. i keep getting the minimum maximum setting is out of range dialog with some astronomically high number in it. then animator crashes…

using 7.0.1 on OSx 10.5.2.  fresh install of everything…

anyone else having this problem?

even opening the scratches shader causes animator to crash instantly.

where are the preference files for these shaders, in the shader file itself? part of EI’s preferences?

i need this fixed....

Yeap, I can reproduce

1. Go to shader variance editor
2. Find Scratches
3. Double click
4. Try anything
5. Press cancel
6. Crash

UB version.

any progress on this? it’s not just scratches, it’s a good portion of the high powered shaders....gradient seems to be the latest casualty. i managed to open it once. then it crashed animator. now clicking on any of the variances causes animator to crash.

is this something i can expect to be fixed soon? this is a -major- problem. not much worth in having an animation package that can’t use it’s shaders....

Apparently not so soon wink The fix will have an effect for Scratches only (that uses new EI7 features). However, variance editor calls ALL shaders to draw all icons (not a lucky idea IMO). So, if you’ve one crashed - a whole variance editor can be not workable.
