Shader Problem 2

This is a different shader problem then the one mentioned in the post below. I didn’t want to hijack that thread.

Very recently I upgraded from EIAS 4.0 to 7.0. (Yeah, I know, a long vacation from 3D). I installed the 7.0.1 upgrade and then installed the raindrops shader I found right below it on this site. I also installed some of the shaders that came with the DVD, including DirtLayerLite, Pits and RGBFilter.

When I am in the material editor and try and select these shaders, the dialog box says “not a shader. “ I installed the Mac shaders in my 7.0.1 EI shader folder. But they do not seem to work. Am I missing something?

Jerry,
I think the shaders you mentioned in the post have not been updated to (UB) Universal Binary (ie for Mactel).
That could be the problem.

Thanks Bruce,

I suppose that is a possibility. Although I am running EIAS 7.0.1 on a G5, so no Intel here. Would that matter?

And if the shaders truly don’t work under any Mac, why include them on the install DVD?
