Hi there,

I’ve started to fool around with MR. Nitro2 in 7. The documentation is really poor, and i’d like to know more about it. Also the settings a bit confusing to me, and seems like there is no collision detection in it. I somehow managed to blow up a building glass but the glass pieces don’t bounce back from neighboring surfaces which is intact by the explosion.

thanks
Mishi

No they won’t bounce back. Nitro is not build for that. Blaster will do it. I personally will try with Rodeo. I’m pretty sure it will work.

so how can you combine Nitro with Rodeo. I’ve not used Rodeo either. I’m pretty much new with EIAS and only use it for simple animations. but my curiosity drives me to understand everything in it.
Could you give me a guideline or a link? I checked out the tutorial earlier for Rodeo, but that is for a car, and it’s hard to loosen my mind up and think of a different way to use/apply that.
Thanks

You know mishmish, treat this plugin as the shatter effect in After Effects only imop i think the shatter effect has more power .
But anything that blows away or any particle treated is better in After Effects with small exceptions . I have been playing with this one as well it just doesnt make any sense it takes too much ram and try to parent it to Mr. Blobby it just cry´s for ram.

Otherwise if you need to use it try to make your model with the less polys aas possible.

Am i right guys?

I cannot use Rodeo on Nitro pieces either, that would be nice…
Just use Rodeo on a pre-shattered piece of glass. It gives quite good results.

That is really cool. How did you make it? Could you share it with me if you have time? That would be a nice tutorial too. Just simple step by step. Thanks Richard.

I posted a .zip file on my server with the complete project. You will be able to study it. I included a small PDF with 3 important things for the setup. It is not a tutorial but it will get you going. As ednumber0 mentioned because he has a keen eye… wink the pieces are still moving once on the ground.
If you want to correct it to improve on this little test, try selecting all the glass pieces in the rodeo setup tab and change the bounce to a lower value. You can also set the ground to absorb bounce. I suspect the error is there. I might be wrong… Enjoy!

I am still searching for the Jigsaw Puzzle Project. I did not forget. If I can’t find it, I will post a new one with fewer pieces so you get the procedures anyway. Once done, I will post in the right thread. Sorry for the delay.

I was interested by this post-

Attached is a test using only rODEo to simulate a particle effect/ explosion.

rODEo Explosion

I think this shows a lot is possible with rODEo directly if you are willing to experiment.
A particle generator that could interact with rODEo and other objects could be very interesting smile

Thanks.
Straight render out of EIAS wink

Just light rays with the “invert glow” option.

Diego,
The EIAS folder on my server was accidently deleted last month so most of the links here and on CGTalk are broken.
If you tell me what link is dead, I will fix it. Anyway, most of the examples I did are in the EITG Gallery under Dynamics.

I still have some of these projects, if you want any of them, tell me, I will check if I kept it.
