First, cool animation.

I’m trying to animate something similar.

It’s a plane or low y value cube that I want to break up.

My question is two-fold:

How did you model the puzzle board?

I’m trying to find a solution to do a random break up,
possibly with an image map cutting the plane.  I’m not sure if
you had a similar solution to model the puzzle pieces.

How did you get a sticky texture on the puzzle pieces?

I also want to create a material with a photo texture that sits on
the object prior to it breaking apart.

any hints would help.

Thanks in advance,
Whatever

The puzzle is made out of only 4 different pieces, you use as many as you want then cut the external edges.
The puzzle shape is from Internet, corrected in Illustrator to make sure the repetition is OK then modeled in FormZ.

Nige just posted the link to the Jigsaw puzzle thread you will find a small version of the project at the end.

You can also have a look at the “breaking window glass” thread.

Here is the project:

Hope it helps.

Thanks,
I think you guys provided what I need to get to the next step.
I appreciate it.  I just wish there was a way to ‘Make Sticky’ camera maps.

Whatever.
