I had 20 jobs to render last night. I come in this morning and they are all 97~99% done. I had to restart ‘Rama and hit ‘go’ for the last few frames to finish.  Any idea why this is?  I’ve been running into this problem.  (EI 7.0.1 and 10.5.3, but all slaves are 10.5.2)

Could the computer with Rama have gone to sleep?

not in my case. it’s an 8-core with 6 slaves rendering on it, although even when i don’t have any slaves rendering, it will still happen…

Yeah we get this too, it’s usually because a master/slave communication error has occurred, yet for some reason Renderama doesn’t notice this and it thinks the slave is still rendering an old frame.

No, the computer is not asleep.  All slaves are set to never sleep.

So is there a solution to this?  Rama needs to time out and realize that if all slaves are taking ‘x’ minutes per frames and one slave hasn’t responded in ‘x * 2’, resend to another client.

C4D has a neat feature that lets you manually relaunch any slave from the web browser-based control panel if a client gets stuck.
