I went to a lot of shows of that type when i was there in LA, Miami but now i missed these type of shows so did EITG was there?

I misunderstood you. We did not do that show (we have never done it). EI hasn’t done a trade show in about 8 years.  They always generated more cost than profit.

Are you sure about that Matt? Well maybe next year you should change your mind about this. With v8 and Tesla. Maybe things has changed since the last time. Well is part of the marketing strategy. Which i never understood why EITG keeps it so privately, is like they are ok with what they are making now. Well if there no new product than is a lost of money going to a trade show.  I have never bought anything on a trade show but sure i have make some contacts and being in workshops in the past.

Hi, Edgard.  EI, (in my opinion) has done well to avoid the trade show costs.  Yes, it is publicity but not very useful
publicity.  I don’t think EI is being all private about things.  We know that at this time they have finite resources.
They are wise to invest in Tesla’s Development, and in improving animator.  I dont want to see them wasting
time in some tiny booth making no real impact.  (I actually DO buy software at siggraph and some of these shows,
the deals can be incredible!  The upgrade to realflow 4 SAVED me $700 buying it at siggraph last year.)

Lets keep up the word of mouth going on the internet.  Also check out the “mindshare” thread.....

Well you can say all you want but not doing so like at Siggraph 2008 they are getting everytime out of the scenario in 3d business. Lets say for example i might meet some one there that is interested in investing money in the development of these tool. Or like you attend to the LA and exposed your reel and therefore you get some publicity for EITG and yourself. A waste of time and money ..mmm...you have to spend in order to obtain if you keep saving then you going nowhere my friend.

Like me for example i decided to jump into investing in the upgrade and i could see how many things could or couldnt not be done in EI ,at the moment i am more interested in other tools than EIAS sadly but is the true i am adquiring different Mograph applications which do what i want to use these for . i dont really care if it looks amazing and beautiful quality image as some people say i care what type of motion can be achieve with these tool , i dont really care if it looks 3dish any ways i could fix it in post. And as Ian mentioned EIAS is making million of dollars so where is the money?
Not well invested in my opinion.
I have to disagree with you Scott but avoidig these shows is not making the 3d application grow.Listen to what Matt said for 8 years...eight years that is a long time in 3d and computer businesses maybe is time to get up and spend that money. As you said Scott on a tiny booth but they are there showing up than lets see the feedback they did with your demo why not with the real daddy.
THanks

edgard, where on earth, my friend, did you hear EI is profiting in the millions!
If they profited that much I would complain they don’t advertise enough as well.

Believe me i was surprised to her these but someone said these on a thread i cant find now. But anyways if EITG doesnt want to go to Siggraph well their reasons should they have. If EITG have had bad experiences than lets just all be happy again . I mean is Siggraph man. I will be glad to have EITG showing their face there and giving out some workshops so they think twice about the options to be brainwashed by the competition , specially in the states where the economy is based on consuming and a lot of people from all over the world go to these type of shows. And EITG is right there in California, gees weez.
So you really think they should avoid these type of shows? I am very surprised of your opinion Scott, i thought you will be with me on this. smile
Well EITG could go to the next MotionGraphics festival in Chicago at least.
Scoot is the best example of how L.A works is just fashion , now they use C4D rather than EIAS and he is more than great in making those grphics move. So how should i land a job there. I have to learn Maya or turn into a Xpresso machine?
