Unfortunately, we must declare about discontinuing of all commercial Paralumino plug-ins with our participation:
- MrRevolver
- Trestle
- Scrim
- Braider
- Swage
After long thinking we came to conclusion: activity of Brian J. Pohl is counter-productive and harmful for EI and us personally. And if we really think so - we must stop any business with this person. We’ll not comment anything but can only say: our solution is not impulsive but well-thought. Related things
- we’ll continue these plug-ins support for all customers to fix bugs/probs in these plug-ins if users found them
- “source codes” etc - for any project in bounds of EITG (no matter with/without our participation) any our source codes will be given (if they needed) and we’ll not ask any money. However, that’s for EITG only.
- if you want to buy some of them - please do this before August 15, 2008. After this date no any copy can be sent
We are really sorry about this but we think our solution is right and only one possible. Sorry, gentlemem
Paul.. please don’t allow the actions of some individuals dictate your actions with EITG. While I may disagree with the Igors’ assessment of my “activities”, try to remember that Paralumino remains an entity outside of EITG’s direct influence and the Igors are entitled to their opinions. Much could be said about their “activities” within the community, but that would simply be pointless and would cause further divide. I wont go down that road.
Support for EIAS should continue and rest assured that the money you’ve spent for your Para-Plugins is well worth it. They will serve you faithfully.
It was (and still is) the foundational goal of Paralumino to bring new advancements to the EITG/EIAS world with new products and training. I wont stop doing that and the Igors decision will not change that.
“activity of Brian J. Pohl is counter-productive and harmful for EI and us personally. And if we really think so - we must stop any business with this person”
You can do whatever you want as business men. You have that right.
But to Call Brian Pohl “counterproductive” and “harmful!!”
is crossing the line. I know Brian personally, and on a daily basis. He is Kind, Calm, Wise, Giving, Generous
and full of integrity. He is the BIGGEST asset the EI Community has by far, that does not work for EITG.
How sad and disappointing to hear this kind of character assassination made.
Well i am interested if they are gonna be ported inside Animator, that could be very helpful for the modeling to happened inside EI. Never use these plug ins. But they have so much potential. Being able to handle cv´s is a freaking awesome.
I could think that the Igors, as i know dont like to work twice, maybe that is good news for EIAS.
I supposed they got tire of being pointed out as the ugly duck. While i dint ever meant to make it personal. The bomb exploded with the falloff bug.
How many years have they work for EITG and getting nothing but sad faces, nobody feels happy about EIAS. Always comparing this product have this and that. Must be frustrated for the Igors, is not easy to break up with business but that doesnt end there. Maybe it was needed.
Maybe they are gonna be busy working in further development of Camera and this was taking too much energy.
I dont think they mean these, not in a bad way they just got tire of seeing their business going nowhere.
As PaulS said it must be hard to be a 3d developer. Specially on the microwave era, i have to add to that.
Best wishes for the Paralumino team.
Edgard, how can you comment about the Igors post and NOT see the
Personal and Public attack on Brian. I love EI too, but the big story here
is the Igors and the PR nightmare they have started. So very very unprofessional........
Just wondering: who or what exactly are ‘The Igors’ and how important are they for EIAS future? It is all a bit misty for me to get a fair picture in the current turmoil. It is most certainly not very reassuring, already being at the crossroads concerning possible future investment in EIAS and (should it ever materialize) Tesla. Can they make or break the future (versions of) EIAS?
And as Scott rightly points out, once the character assassination starts, we will be on a very slippery road indeed that does nothing but great harm.
Hi Albert. The Igors are 2 people. I am unaware of their true names. They are programmers, and have been programmers for EI for many years.
......
IMHO - Dont worry at all about EI, exciting things are coming right around the corner including v8 and Tesla.
These things are happening.
......
This simply appears to be an inappropriate venue to air personal attacks, at frankly, one of the giant members of
our community as far as his support for all things EI and his very impressive resume.
.......
Please do not hesitate to upgrade to v8 or buy Tesla in ANY WAY, due to their comments.
........
if you have any concerns, dont be afraid to Email me and I can be more detailed if you wish......
HI Scott,
Well as i see the Igors have a way to see the world. You either do as i say or go somewhere else. Is their signature and has been for about these year that i have being involved, due to my upgrade.
If you checked 2006/2007 they were answering to some of the users at CGtalk. But things have being changing. They dont like to much public attention neither cant handle any type of criticism when it comes to what they do.
I have commented to Brian in pvt messages what i think about, long time ago. And it just was a matter of time.
So these are the developers of Camera beautiful renders evryone loves.
I just want a possible solution to have these plug ins in V8 or V9 i am thinking about my self and what is best for me.
Paralumino closing doors is almost the end of EIAS, what is left Konk and the incredible Northern which has being adopting the same position but more quietly.
Though I usually don´t actively participate in the forums, I do follow them.
I konw nothing about the Igors, I assume they are gifted programmers, and that is the way we should see them, they are not te voice of EI, they are not the heads of EI, they DO NOT make the decisions about EI.
It seems to me that the problem here starts, when technical employees, are allowed to participate in public forums regarding a product they are developing, but at the same time do not have the final decision on the implementation on the particulars of the product.
I think it is not wise, specially for them, and EI, to participate in the forums. The cost is way too high compared to the benefit. By participating they are exposed to the public scrutiny, in matters that at the end of the day, they do not control. I do see a potential PR nightmare because of this.
If they are to answer technical problems, why don’t stick to the technical support forum? why bother to comment on anything else? even if they feel attacked. Remember, they can only be “attacked” if they have a visible face.
I think we each shold stick to our role, users, supporters, CEO’s, moderators, programmers, etc.
And within our role, do our best to help EI communit grow strong.

It seems the nightmare is already here and not everyone is ready to wake up yet, which is sad.
Having said that, I think your observation is a very sharp one and let’s all take good notice of your last two sentences and act accordingly. It might cool the tensions and clear up the visions.
This decision from the Igors puts those plugins’ future squarely into EITG’s hands, which, in a way, was what we hoped for given how the situation at Paralumino was deteriorating. There is an opportunity here, and I hope Brad and co. take advantage of it.
Also, I think Manarq nails one of the biggest problems. It isn’t believable that the Igors have the final say on each EIAS release’s feature set, but they get treated as if they do. Actually, I wonder what the EITG hierarchy is, really: who we must address to discuss what category of issues.
What seems to have worked best is to move things via the appointed “liaison officers”: Ian and others. Plus very to-the-point entries from technical guys like Kishore or the very Igors. Perhaps we ought to get back to that.
juanxer, I agree. But I wouldn’t say Paralumino is struggling. Some things are out of peoples hands.
I for one, hope and expect more great stuff from them\Brian in the future. Brian can, and will speak for
himself if he chooses to.
I just dont want to hear any representative of EI getting personal with Me, You or anyone else for that matter.
EITG needs all the good pr and good will it can get.
I just get back from my August vacation and find this. Unbelievable. Well like the majority here my sympathy and support goes out to Brian.
I hope you & the Igors find a way to repair the harm done and mend the bridges so important to the rest of us EIAS users.
