Hi, I’m still on PPC, which sounds like the difference; import works fine. Only using for zbuffer so far. Sounds a pain though, someone needs to fix it quick for intel…
i did see that, just trying to get some sort of response or info about the current state of things. i get teased into thinking that we would have a DOF solution that works with multi-layer renders(that doesn’t take forever to render...). guess we’ll have to wait and see…

We can confirm that a fixed vers of RPF shader (it had bugs under IntelMac) does really exist Since 7.0.1, i.e. more than half-year ago. But maybe there are some probs with posting, we seen several bug reports caused by old vers of the shader. Please ask Matt and/or Ian for update, posting files is out of our competency.
Well, maybe it does mean: those shaders are more important for users than RPF.
Or maybe the people doing motion graphics is not bothering in asking and they have found a better way to do it either by exporting camera data or by doing it the old way. As always not very serious about the feature which is promoted. Maybe that is why Ian hasnt put a Video tutorial about the subject RPF i dont mean static PSD files but a sequence of PSD files impoted into AFX CS3 which is the lates version.
The basic fact is, if something’s there in the software it should work, and if not it should be fixed fast. I would hazard a guess to say the majority of people using EI would be using AE, and would want RPF to work. I’m lucky cause I’m one of the sluggards still on PPC, but seems like its broken on intel. I would suggest someone talks to Adobe soon about it (considering the first posts on this were last year!)
Guys lets be honest is easier to fix these feature in EIAS than it is for Aodbe to fix a espcific item that doesnt work in EIAS. Is EIAS job to fix the issue ASAP. In future releases they should do more testing something like these is IMOP lack of concentration.

There is no need to contact Adobe: after I first noticed the issue and warned EI about it, Matt Hoffman let me try a working beta version which just needed to be able to produce correlatively named RPF files, everything else working perfectly in AE. That was around January, I think. My guess is the final version for Intel Macs was done, but somebody put the buggy shader in the EIAS updater instead of the new one.
