I know what you mean, I do so much 5 -30 second animations and effects, longer form stuff can be daunting.
There is no way on a low budget project that I could do anywhere near 5 minutes worth of “demo Reel Worthy”
work throughout.
........
I know you know this Edgard, but on YOUR demo reel you should obviously pick and choose the perfect and best moments
of the video. Showing the whole thing on a reel is overkill bigtime. You have some very nice moments to add to your
reel from this, which, imho, is what will lead to more work for you. Remember, your only as good as the weakest thing on your reel. (in a lot of employers eyes) Also, your not alone, SuperNova does not use interns, (yet) so ALL the fun HD matte work and compositing is done by me, just like you. Hard work builds character!
........
I actually have found that some of my freelance clients think its very positive that I dont ever look at matte work, rotoscoping etc as “beneath me” They see my reel and some think thats all i do. No No No.... So much of what pays the bills is far less exciting than the pieces that tend to make my reel. I suspect im not alone on that.

FUNNY STORY FOR ME today at my 3 day freelance gig in LA. The VERY COOL client uses C4D and knows I use EI.
He still hires me at my full hourly rate, uses me in after effects and has me spend 5 hours of my day today animating
a basic shape with some interesting motion IN CINEMA 4D!!! I said Ive never used it for a job, and the AD said, well
just ask questions, and learn some of the app while doing this animation! I spent 5 hours doing what I could of done
in EI in 10 minutes. BUT, I learned a whole lot about how to set keyframes, velocity, interface issues etc in the 5 hours
I worked on it. I thanked them at the end of the day for them letting me LEARN some of C4D WHILE THEY PAYED ME!
Im nominating them for one of my best clients ever! Ill see what they have me do tomorrow.......
Anyway, I thought you, Edgard, would find that funny. Mr EI PAYED to learn C4D.
