Is there a new keyboard shortcut to pan/drag in the view windows?  Until v8 I could use the spacebar, but it doesn’t work in v8.  It’s killin me.

No. The shortcuts were not changed in V8. Is it possible that the spacebar was assigned to some other purpose by a background application or a system shortcut?

In OS X (10.5), I think the spacebar and command key combo might be assigned to call Spotlight. I kept getting system error beeps when I used the spacebar+command combo in EIAS. So I changed my spotlight call to F5. All fine now

Matt, I think you were right.  Maya was running in the BG, and the spacebar still worked in that GUI.  But I had to restart the computer to get it back in EI--just quitting all other apps didn’t help.  Thanks.
