Quick SeaLevel Test from ZB Displacement maps and NormalMap.

Much more practical to use displacements with 50% gray based.

Hey Folx.

Alonzo Von Threet here. This the final Zbrush tutorial for SeaLevel Feature for EIAS v8.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fTKjaL-J88

The tutorial escorts the user through the process of creating a displaced polysphere to exporting the normal/Displacement maps into EIAS can getting a good render.

You will need:

Zbrush 3.2 with GoZ (Currently Mac Only)
Encage
Obj2Fact
or a quality FBX exporter.
EIAS v8

Like all my videos, it’s a real time recording (taping). There is nothing edited out. This means any errors or bloopers that naturally occur during a production of this sort are all inclusive. However, the old adage,"learn from your mistakes” is the ideal scenario and invaluable here.
One mishap during the tutorial is Polysphere in Zbrush are very high resolution when created and the polycount can not be lower like my other models. It was more geometry than desired. It caused memory problems with my O2F tests but it was not an O2F problem. I did switch to FBX but It was only that I lowered the subdivisions in Encage that helped not particularly FBX. Both FBX and O2F would have worked well with the adjustment in Encage. Generally hand modeled characters are far less than polyspheres. The ideal situation would be if I deleted one HighRez and one Low Rez SubD in Zbrush.

What I do enjoy is the contrast of how a very low resolution obj/fact/fbx can be subdiv’d in EIAS with Encage a few map type can make it a very pristine, high-frequency detailed surface. Again it’s not a cookie-cutter, 1-2-3 process. I don’t believe thing that is art is a push button solution but it works reliably with the ease of Sea Level feature. And now, with the recent release of GoZ, exporting maps from Zbrush 3.2 is all GRAVY!!!

Again with anything more the you do it the better you get at it. Hopefully you will gain a natural feel for the Art of creating renders of Zbrush models in EIAS v8.

I would like to give God the GLORY for His help in this long journey.

I would to thanks to Ian for not letting this one slip by. Great job on Sea Level. also thanks Igors, tomas, lolo and all contributors.
