I have just updated my operating system on my Dual 2 Ghz G5 to the latest Mac OS Leopard 10.5.7 and when I launch EI 6.5 I can only “Open Recent” projects in the file menu. All other menu options under “File” (ie. “Open’, “New”, “Merge”, “View Image") cause EI to crash every time. I can’t even import objects as this requires EI to interface with the OS as well. I’m not running any other applications and I have gone back to EI 6.5r2 and had the same problem under Mac OS 10.5.4. If I want to us the OS to find a file it seems to freak out that it has to interface with EI. I can launch a project directly from the finder and it will load into EI with no problems.

I just found Matt Hoffmans solution to the problem. ‘Upgrade to the latest version of EIAS’. I’m not sure thats a solution?

Can I get a guarantee that if I upgrade to EIAS v8.0 that it will work on my Dual 2 Ghz Power PC G5?
