Anybody have any thoughts or warnings about the ATI RADEON X1650 PRO for use with EIAS?

http://ati.amd.com/products/RadeonX1650/features.html

It seems like a decent, dual monitor card with 512 Megs of ram. The price seems right as well, not too cheap nor game fan expensive.

Thanks.

I’d like to see some opinions on that card as well: The ATI one as well as the offerings from Nvidia (Quadro series vs the GeForce series).

Anyone like to share their configs and levels of satisfaction?

And wasn’t there a page somewhere that had some benchmark results for stuff, both render times and also screen refresh times?

Last Q: has anyone played around with that ATI pro card or any of the Quadro card with the new AE8/AE-CS3?

I’d love to see just what the new “hardware acceleration” option in the AE prefs amounts to, since its separate from their openGL option…

Lets hear some opinions!!!

Wow. Number of opinions = zero. What an overwhelming response!

In a related topic, I swapped out my old Geforce 5950ultra with a Quadro 4000FX. Didn’t make a bit of difference in EI. Slight diff in AE using OGL stuff, but AE/OGL still does weird things like turn all grey and stuff.

Kind of disappointing...maybe switching to PCIe and the higher class of fast pro cards might make a difference.....maybe.
