I’m new to EIAS (sort of) and am using an old tutorial which references an object palette which is suppose to have an icon in the upper left that allows you to add models to the project. I was able to find an object import object command to get models. Should I not worry about not finding this object palette and just use import object? Or does this palette exist and I just need to know how to access it. Or should I skip certain specific old tutorials?

We got rid of that palette a long time ago. All the functions there were in the palette are in the menus (as you discovered).
The tutorial can still be followed.

I kind of thought that but just wanted to be sure.

Thanks for the confirmation.

I tried opening another old tutorial supposedly dealing with Xpressionist (magnet Gustavo MunAEoz.prj).

I am getting a whole bunch of “object” not found messages.

First I’m wondering when you add an object to a project if it’s embedded or if it’s linked?

Seems like if objects were embedded they would not to exist in any relative path location.

I have EIAS 7.0.1 located in my applications folder and all the subordinate folders that go with that installation below that. But I have pulled in objects from other drives in different locations when adding objects to my projects.

So I’m worried that I need a certain hierarchial structure for EIAS to find certain objects.

Should I just skip any tutorials that give me these object not found errors or if the objects exist somewhere do I need them to be located in a way that EIAS will automatically find them?

I wouldn´t skip those tutorials. Just use the green “FIND” button and locate those files. Like shown in your image locate the Uebershape plugin in your EIAS sockets folder and any other files wich may come up in the project folder you are using (textures, models. etc.).
