Animator would suddenly quit while Camera is doing a snapshot.  Sometimes, it happens while I was just waiting for the snapshot to render.  Sometimes while I was clicking around working in Animator or switching to check email or browse the web.  Seems to be random. And sometimes it would be fine while I continue to work in Animator editing the scene.

This is under 10.5, both EI 7.0 and 7.0.1, happens on my 2.16 GHz 2 Gig RAM Mac mini, iMac c2D 2.33 2 Gig RAM.  And also 3.0 early 2008 Mac Pro 10 Gig RAM.

Any clues what is happening?

It’s happening to me a lot as well.  I have tried to narrow it down so I can re-create, but I can’t seem to find what I can do to guarantee a crash.

Are you using Spaces in Leopard?  I am, and sometimes I think if I’m in another space while Camera/Animator are rendering I seem to get crashes more frequently.  If I simply stay in the same space and wait, it doesn’t seem to crash.

This has been reported...but we haven’t been able to reproduce it yet reliably enough to understand what is causing it. I appreciate your
efforts to come up with a list of steps we can use to reproduce the problem.

I have spaces turned off.  Seems when other applications are running, it will crash more likely.  At first I though I had bad RAM, but on 3 different machines… maybe has to do with the OS?

But EI (especially v6.5) under windows seems fairly solid.  Never had it quit suddenly like on OS X.
