Hi all,

Time for another EI Freebe. This very simple shader uses GI to create fast, occlusion aware blurred reflections based on your Sky Map.

RN.shd is available for Mac (65 and 66) and PC

Read the readme!!
http://homepage.mac.com/cake_or_death/RN.sitx

Regular GI render: http://homepage.mac.com/cake_or_death/RN/prim1.jpg

Reflection GI render: http://homepage.mac.com/cake_or_death/RN/prim2.jpg

Comped: http://homepage.mac.com/cake_or_death/RN/primfin.jpg

Regular GI render with RT reflections: http://homepage.mac.com/cake_or_death/RN/car1.jpg

Reflection GI render: http://homepage.mac.com/cake_or_death/RN/car2.jpg

Comped: http://homepage.mac.com/cake_or_death/RN/carfin.jpg

Tip1: You can get some very interesting effects by playing with the GI cone angle.
Tip2: Try high GI Sky Light intensities and high bump settings for a ‘blown out’ look.
Tip3: Try using an RN pass instead of specular for you highlight on metallic objects.

Enjoy,
Ian

UPDATE: There are now three versions of RN.shd:

Mac 65
Mac 66
PC

All at the same link above. I have edited the previous post to reflect the new versions.
