Richard, I just read the pdf. I never thought this was so simple. now one more question i have. Well i’m pretty lazy, and since we have a computer, i’d like it to have things done by it.
So the question is, can I shatter the glass with nitro and export the very very first frame of the explosion as fact file or obj. than the rest would be your bullet trick. so the idea is to make the cracks with nitro and than use the the bullet. do you think it’s doable? I will try it tomorrow. the reason i’m asking because let’s say i wanna blow up a glass cup it is hard to model the shattered pieces. but maybe i don’t know something…

No, it will not work. Even with all the Nitro pieces far apart, Rodeo will consider it 1 group and will animate all the pieces as one.

You can shatter your glass many ways depending of you modeler. With FormZ, I use Booleans ant Trim with line. The advantage is that you control the shattering and end up with what you want. It is tedious tough.

You could export the Nitro group as OBJ and load it in Maya. There you can use the “seperate” command to make single pieces of the object. Than bring it back into Animator and you have single groups.
