Can someone tell me the highest version of Mac OSX that Animator 6.5r2 will work with? I have had no success opening or saving files in 10.5.2 (unexpectantly quits) I have been unable to find the specs for the software on the website.

What is the lowest version of Mac OSX that version 7.0.1 will work with?

I am trying to find some combination of animator and OSX that Renderama will work with. I have yet to render a single frame with RR on anything except local. If I create a new slave (locally or on another mac on the network) it copies all of the files then says “an error was encountered at slave 192.168.0.5:1616: Unknown error”

Thanks for any help. This is maddening. -Derryl

Derryl,
if your machine is an Intel Mac, I think you have to use version 6.6 or above for it to work.  That was the first version for Universal Bianary.

Version 7 works great in 10.4

Ian put together a great tutorial on setting up slaves.  Some of the tricks have changed since for 10.5 do to addressing changes.  Search the forum for slave issues and it should pop up.  Here is Ian’s tutorial,

Good luck,

Yon> many thanks for the Ian/Renderama link. Solved the problem perfectly, now I can render on all internal processors and external machines as well.

Still having issues running 6.5 on Leopard 10.5.2. Does anyone know if this should work? It’s necessary to have it to open old files to remove the pre-7 version of instances of plugins. Otherwise you have reboot to an 10.4 every time you have a crashing file to debug. Thanks again. -Derryl

6.5 will not work in 10.5 at all. You must be running 6.6+ to use 10.5.
