Dante Problem: Not God only Blair can help!!!!!!!!!

I have a serious problem with Dante 3.1. (UB version)
The problem is after rendering app.100 frames (i.e 5 sec) the Camera crashes.
My system is (MacPro 3.2Ghz, Leopard 6GB RAM, EIAS 7.01).
I think not God only Blair can help!!
Is there any solution Blair. You are the only hope.

I used long time back Dante 2.6 with my old G4 and did not face any problems.
Plz help me.

EIAS senior people must help in solving the problem.
We are ready to buy plug-ins without tutorials or supports.
After hard efforts we learn ..however...unstability of plug-ins or applications are not acceptable…
We dont want to know which translator is used....code warrior or x-code...we are looking forward to solve our problems only.
This will affect seriously the sale of EIAS though it is considered as one of the fastest rendering program.

Note: I appriciate EIAS (Matt Hoffman) for their extrodinary support. He sends personal mails to solve problems.

Hi Dominic-
If there are bugs, Blair will need a sample project which demonstrates the problem.
The best way to do this is to remove everything from your project that does not directly show the problem, or just construct a new project that demonstrates it. Also include a detailed description of what you are doing in the project, and the problems. If you have crashes try to figure out the exact sequence of action which causes the crash. Include any renderings, screenshots, etc. that would be helpful in describing the problems you have found.
This specific information is necessary for the programmer to track down exactly what is happening.

If you have some web space you can post a download link for your .prj here...I am sure Blair will see it and respond.

I will do it.

I can send him the whole project as zip file.
However it is as simple to describe.
Bcz it repeated in many cases.
example:
I construct dredger model in formZ and rendered.
Everything worked fine.
When I added Dante 3.1 for spray effect.
(one time with ubershape sphere object and other time with built-in ‘lines’)
In preview everything went well.
But in rendering, the camera crashed app. after 100 frames. though it suppose to go 650 frames.

It is Dante 311UB version. I am working on Leopard with 6GB RAM. EIAS 7.01

The crash repeated in many projects only with Dante 311UB.
Also when I tried ‘fire’ for another project same thing happen.
Sometime even unable to recover the project.
I confirmed it clearly.
Thats why I reported to forum.
However I will send the file to Brad today.
( I have not gone out of range in any of the parameters.)

Check the amount of memory allocated to Camera.  If it’s more than 2 GB, reduce it to just under 2 GB and try again.

Well .......All I tried.
Initially camera memory was 4GB.
I tried with 1.2GB.
It did not make any difference.

I am confused.
The sample file has been sent to Blair.

Well I downloaded your project and noticed a couple of things. I did reduce your uber sphere resolution...I thought you were probably using too many divisions. I’m running 7.0.1 on a 2GHZ G5. Dante 3.1.1 UB. I switched to phong rendering and no anti aliasing because again you probably don’t need it. Plus I dropped the resolution in half. Camera memory is at 512 mb. Rendered 150 frames without incident.

Switched the settings back to Raytracing, full resolution, and adaptive anti aliasing and rendered 150 frames without incident with Camera only equipped with 512mb ram. I’m not seeing any crashing at all. Its a pretty straight forward project.

Phong frames averaged in at 4 seconds a frame. Raytracing 36 seconds.

I stand corrected. I did get a crash at frame 91. It was the phong render that made it past 100 frames.

It is not the matter of sphere.
I tried even with dante’s built-in points or lines.
The project has been sent to Blair.
I am sure we will get solution soon.............
Some time the crash is even after 200 frames.  But there is a crash.
I guess the crash may be due to some kind of code conflict specically for UB version. (INTEL Machines???)
