Here is a big issues that is the key to some of us, at least for me is a little taboo.smile uhhh

Say i have 2000 clones or mutliple copies of the same object , i got one of them textured ,transparency, clip, ambient, transmission , the whole deal.
Than i go to Create Master Material, than i think ok i now can add the same texture all my copies of the same object.

I tried to texture all of them with a Master Material. but no i have to go object per object to uncheck the LIVE MATERIAL box, and go through each one of them and hit UPDATE FROM MASTER. Is there any easier work flow?

Thanks all,
Edgard

Live Material check box why not on the Reload form Master?

thanks, Edgard

Edgard,
try this… http://www.eitechnologygroup.com/forums/viewthread/426/P0/

the Igors created a potential short cut, and the various methods and solutions are discussed… you were involved even smile

Hi Edgard,

You can copy and paste materials from one object to another? Would this help?
1. Click the material ball
2. Copy
3. Select groups in the project window
4. Paste

Edgard,

to uncheck e.g. the live material checkbox of 2000 groups, select these groups, uncheck the desired checkbox, right mouse-click - set selected - that’s it.

Hi all,

I’m slightly lost, are you using passive master materials (the little lock next to the visibility button in the texture list)? If you are not, then you do not need to click ‘reload from master’.

Best,

Of course if you used Placer Deposit, you wouldn’t have to do anything.
