Hi, I’m trying to render like a part of a road that explodes. I’m rendering it over a white plane, so that I can later icomposite it AFX. (if you want to know what I’m talking about see Andrew Kramer’s tutorial of meteor crash on http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/) I’m rendering the explosion (that I did using Dante) with Global Illumination. The problem is taht GI doen’t allow my plane to generate a shadow mask, so I’m rendering it with the layer tab. When it comes to motion blur, the renders are horrible, with white borders.
Anyone knows how to achieve this with EIAS?
1) Shadow mask is calculated as a ratio between shadowed and not shadowed lighting. This technique cannot be used for GI because its “unshadow portion” is unknown. So, yes, you need to use layers
2) Motion blur does not affect layers in PSD file, but automatically creates another one layer that is a copy of Camera’s blur buffer applied to image. This layer can be used for composition. Maybe you need just to turn it off in PSD(s)
3) If there are artifacts - please prepare bug/test prj and let us know
