What’s the easiest way to have an object ease in/out of its motion keyframe?

In After Effects, there’s the all-purpose, one button “easy ease”.  Is there a similar command in EI?

The only way I know how in EI is use the function graph, which is incredibly time consuming when I want to quickly ease out 100 objects.

Hey Navstar,

A cool trick when setting up the motion of hundreds of objects that you want to ease in/out is to go into preferences > keyframe > Create new channels using > F-Curve (or one of the others)

All new animation will be eased! smile

That’s a great help!  Thanks, Ian!

But other than that, there’s no quick way to ease a bunch of keyframes?

As far as I know, there is no ‘easy ease’ button. This would seem to be a fairly simple thing to add (an additional option to the ‘set path to’ feature that automatically adds a tension of your choosing to hermite curves for example).

That would be so cool.  I had to animate a car engine disassembling last night and I was cursing every 150 piece I had to manually ease with the function graph.

EDIT:  I just tried your Pref: F-Curve, yet all new animation I make still starts and stops suddenly.  There isn’t any ‘easing’.  Is there no way around the F-Curve Editor?

It worked when I tried it, I think I choose F-Curve from the options list.

Very strange, I’d look into it again but I’m about to leave the country, I’ll record you a video tut when I get back…
