MForge

Development of MForge had been a close partnership between Konkeptoine's design team and illustrator/fine artist Paul Sherstobitoff, giving very powerful, precise 3D CGI tools a fresh perspective and useability.

MForge is designed to be the ultimate surfacing tool in the creation of anything hi-gloss, metals, lacquers and paints with added features enabling corroded versions of each. From deep, clear-coated finishes, soft aluminum to hard-edge chrome and much, much more....MForge handles these surfaces extremely well and gives users a wide variety of tools to customize their looks. Powerful tools, coupled with ease of use have been the design criteria throughout the whole development cycle of MForge as it was essential users actually were able to understand and feel comfortable within the toolset. MForge gives unprecedented power with logical ease of use....a library of near to a hundred presets developed by Paul Sherstobitoff and the Konkeptoine Team are included within the package. These are real world, day to day usage proven presets with little fluff and filler.

Some key features of MForge are:
  • Multiple levels of anisotropic specular control with options for noise modulation and color ramp influence based on variable projections.
  • Two distinct diffuse materials with the ability to use internal 4 color modulated ramps for each, external maps/procedurals or any combination of both separately. These two materials have the ability to blend, based on internal modulated noise/ramps or to remain separate and/or be modulated by "reactive" external rgb.
  • Distinct bump channels for each of the separate materials based on organic fractal patterns mimicking real-world corrosive properties. The ability to use internal or external bumps with full blend controls. MForge can act as a mask to hide/reveal external bumps.
  • MForge allows for internal and external reflectivity patterns, colorations and properties based on modulated ramps....and any combination between internal and external.
  • Noise library with blending options between separate patterns effecting spec, diffuse, bumps, reflectivity and reactivity.
  • Reactive modulation allowing for internal/external definition of placement of each separate material based on internal noise and ramps with projection characteristics or external rgb sourced from image maps, procedurals, vertex coloration or Camera Maps.
