Falloff settings
A lot of people don’t know what to do with the falloff settings in the Diffuse and Specular material tabs, so here is a general rule of thumb that will at least get you started.
Essentially the rule is as follows:
For rock and stone based materials, move the falloff slider down. Try 0.8 or 0.7. Lower values like 0.5 will result in a sharp chalk like falloff.
For metal materials, move the falloff slider up. Try 1.7, or 2. Two is usually a good place to start for Steel. Water can also benefit from similar settings.
