View Making coloured shadows

Use a Ray Traced shadow (soft or not, your choice).
Set the “Color Filter” transparency mode to the “Use Surface Color” filter for the source group’s material.
It might also make sense to add another “shadow only” source group to add more or less shadows at the edges etc. etc.
