View Making smokers work

Category:EIAS -> Working in EIAS -> Techniques

This should get you started:
In a new project add a smoke group in front of the camera. Open up the light info window and go to the “glow” tab. Check the enable glow and enable ray options. Set the glowradius to a large nice radius which will cover most of the smoke (or just some part of it depending on what you are looking for), the idea is to make the glowing light visible. In the right lower corner of the “glow” tab, click/drag/select “smoker 1” next to where it says “smoke”. This should also open up the “smoker 1 info” window and under the “properties” tab check the turbulence option to make your first smoketest easier to preview (makes the smoke kinda denser or more turbulent). Now testrender and hopefully you will have some smoke showing up :-)

Experiment with the settings under the “properties” tab for different “looks”. I believe most of these (if not all) parameters are animateable. Spend some time tweaking and you can achieve some stunning effects with it.
